MKB Independent Radio have received the latest single from extraordinary Singer/Songwriter/Producer Dan Washburn Big Congratulations to Dan Washburn . A heartfelt and reflective song from Dans pen written a few years ago and very apt for releasing now to mark a new journey for his son Noah . Dan is passing on some good advice on life that he received from his own father many years ago to his son Noah who is about to start College.
The production on the song is second to none I particularly like the dobra and fiddle and the warmth and emotion in Dan's amazing Country voice but most of all I like the sentiment . This is one for Noah to carry in his heart always .I had a tear or two myself .

“Goin’ Home” - the back Story
A few years ago, the first night I owned my new Larrivee guitar, I was sitting on the bed at a Nashville Airbnb. As I played my new purchase, this melody was going through my head and the lyric was about “going home”. The song literally just poured out and I was having a struggle with one line and so I asked Emmy, who was sitting across the room, what she thought about it. She looked up and literally blurted out the line. I produced the track later in the week on the session I had booked.
Fast forward, my son Noah is going to college fall of ’24 and s we got him a nice little used SUV. I was taking him to my friend Gary’s place (a used car dealer) to pick up his ride and was telling him things about driving and giving him advice that my father had given me. It suddenly occurred to me I had written about this a few years previous….I had more than one tear following him home that afternoon.
